Code of Conduct
code of conduct
We believe that the essence of sports is FUN and playing in our leagues should be the best part of your day!. While it’s great to have a competitive spirit, poor sportsmanship can take the enjoyment out of the game for everyone involved. We ask that all our members show respect to one another and uphold the highest standards of sportsmanship at all times.
Respect and Inclusion
The LoneStar Sports and Social Club is committed to providing a safe, inclusive, and respectful environment for all participants. We have a zero-tolerance policy for discrimination, racism, sexual harassment, unwelcome sexual advances, violence, threats, or any behavior that could make any player or official feel uncomfortable or threaten their health and well-being. We expect all players to treat each other with respect and uphold the principles of decency and good sportsmanship.
Team Names
Team names must be respectful and considerate of all individuals. Names that are offensive towards any race, nationality, gender, or any other group, or that contain profanity, are not permitted. Please exercise tact and common sense when choosing a team name. LSSSC reserves the right to reject any team name deemed offensive. If your team name is deemed inappropriate, you will be required to choose a new one.
Understanding and Following the Rules
Players are responsible for reading and understanding the rules, which are provided to all roster players before the season and are available on the LSSSC website. Not reading the rules is a major cause of issues in our leagues. If players have questions about the application of any rule, they should ask an official during a break in play or after the game, time permitting. Arguing with SSC team members or requesting rule explanations during play is not acceptable unless the official deems it necessary to explain before continuing play. SSC team members are human and may make mistakes; abuse of any SSC team members will not be tolerated.
Appropriate Behavior
All participants must avoid threatening, taunting, name-calling, put-downs, intimidation, violence, and other inappropriate behavior towards teammates, opponents, and SSC team members. Mistakes happen, and we will not tolerate criticism or intimidation based on skill level differences or any other factors.
Disciplinary Actions
LSSSC reserves the right to impose disciplinary actions on any individual or group who violates the rules of player conduct or the spirit of fair play and sportsmanship. Disciplinary actions may include, but are not limited to:
– Individual game suspensions
– Multiple game suspensions
– Season-long suspensions
– Permanent expulsion from all LoneStar SSC activities
Game Ejections
Unsportsmanlike behavior may result in that player being ejected from the game. An ejected player is required to leave the premises immediately. Refusal to leave the premises may result in a team forfeit and/or suspension.
Receiving a second ejection will result in a removal from the league for the remainder of the season. A third offense will result in a permanent removal from all LoneStar SSC leagues and activities.
Any disputes or complaints regarding the umpire’s handling of a game or ejection can be addressed with the league after the day of play in which the incident took place. On the day of the incident, the umpire’s decision will be considered final and disputes will not be addressed by the league.
League Removal
In order to maintain a safe and respectful environment for all participants and uphold our commitments to our venues, any individual exhibiting the following behaviors will face immediate and permanent removal from all SSC leagues and activities:
- Team Conduct: A team that accumulates multiple ejections or serious offenses within a season may be subject to removal from the league at the discretion of league officials. This includes repeated instances of unsportsmanlike conduct, failure to follow league rules, or any actions that disrupt the safety and integrity of the league.
- Threats of Violence: Any verbal or written threats intended to intimidate or harm others will not be tolerated.
- Fighting: Fighting is strictly prohibited and the SSC has a ZERO TOLERANCE policy. Any instance of fighting will result in the team forfeiting the league without a refund.
- Refusing to Leave the Venue After Ejection: Once ejected from a game or event, individuals are required to vacate the premises promptly. Failure to do so will result in removal.
- Possessing Alcohol When Prohibited: Bringing or consuming alcohol in venues where it is not allowed is unacceptable and will lead to removal.
- Actions Jeopardizing Our Standing with the Venue: Any conduct that could potentially harm the league’s reputation or its relationship with the venue—including non-compliance with venue policies—will result in permanent removal from the league.
Anyone removed from the league for any of the violations listed in this section will forfeit their registration fee and will not receive a refund.
Final Authority
All decisions of the league staff are final. The league staff shall have the final authority to make adjustments to game schedules, game duration, and other aspects of the rules and the league.
Thank you for your cooperation and commitment to making the league a safe and enjoyable experience for everyone.
